Behind the Scenes video
on July 17, 2012 at 3:30 amWow, I haven’t done a blog post in AGES. I finally have something to talk about that isn’t just a new comic or a delay! (*cough* uhh more on that later). I recorded my screen while I made last week’s comic ‘The End Is Near’ and compressed that 9 or so hours of footage down to about ten minutes. Check it out below or click here!
A lot of you have asked me how I make my comics, so this will be my answer from now on.
Let me know what you think of the video. If enough people like the idea, I might look into recording the making of each comic (from now on).
I know this isn’t a new comic that most of you were hoping for, but I didn’t think of anything good enough yet and it’s been (and will be) a busy week. Lots to doooOOooOOobbghhhrgghh. Sleep is first on my list now.
Goodnight!

As an art critique I find your art very interesting. It is a very nice mix of funny things, and current events. These comics are amazing and I will continue reading them.
Really nice work there, Gregor.
You’re one heck of a photoshopper. Wow.
This video is very awesome. Just found your site a few weeks ago, from Justin at invisiblebread.com and now I’ve read them all. Can’t believe the patience you have to put this much detail. Great job!
And yes, post more videos like this!
Teach me Master
LOVE IT XD…
I WISH I KNOW HOW TO DRAW LIKE THAT .. AND MAYBE POST HERE ….
I WOULD…. IF I COULD ….
This was awesome!! It’s amazing to see how much work you put into it =]
Wow! That’s amazing! Would be awesome if you did this to every comic!! Congratulations!
Well, I thought I got it until I saw the unedited version, then I really got it. I didn’t think the first one was bad, I think y should have kept the last panel where the phone calls him a dick, that one really bbrings it home lol. Keep up the good work!
Wow! I didn’t even notice how much detail you put into your work until I saw this. Every little bit counts. This was an awesome watch. Thank you for doing it!
YES! Your comics are MORE than awesome……MUCH more than awesome…..and I think that this idea will make loading artist WAY more than awesome. I think that you should do this for every comic!
P.S. “BRB, REDBULL!” lol
AMAZING!!! Loading Artist you rock our socks! <3
9 hours? Really? Wow.
I’ve filmed myself while drawing my webcomic, but it has never really taken more than 3 hours =S
I can see you put a lot of effort on detail on your drawings.
I always wonderes how you drew the shadding on everything (Quite frankly, I think that it is what I like the most about your drawings, haha). Well I think I know now.
Hehe, keep it up man!
Its amazing to see how much effort you put into making a single comic, much appreciated and commendment! i love that you showed this behind the scenes clip, but i dont think you need to do it for every comic u post
Nice, 9 hours straight? I have more appreciation for your comics now. Keep it up!
That was amazing….I have so much more appreciation for you now.
Love the inspirational pauses at Google haha.. I do the same thing, oh and the arm movements are hilarious
i was wondering when something like this was coming!
Simply incredible. I would love to see this every time.
you, sir, are a genius.
9 hours and you didn’t visit reddit once. I applaud you.
In hindsight it seems funny how much time it looks like you spent to make a joke about how life is a game. Just kinda ironic.
Awesome job, love your comics.
Your drawings are great, I like to watch creating them.
This is actually pretty amazing. I have been following your drawings since the start and trying to replicate them as a way to start drawing. Thanks for inspiring me to draw
Amazing, I didn’t think that it would take that much time. It’s just Waow!
Amazing. It’s like one of those nature documentaries where they show flowers blooming or time-lapse sunsets… except this is interesting. I always figured given the end result that there must be a lot of love and care in each comic, now I know for sure.
Fellow readers, if this isn’t worthy of a few measly dollars in donation, then what more does Gregor have to do?
well said, I fully agree!!
That was very cool! Keep up the great work!
This is amaaaaaaazing!
I love your comics, and you’ve inspired me to start making (um…attempting) my own webcomic :3
I don’t think I realised the amount of work this stuff needed….. o.0
Never mind, keep being awesome!
I love watching the video and seeing your process, but I don’t think you should record every single one. Maybe one every once in awhile, as a nice treat.
Video was awesome as well as the comic. i don’t know if I’d watch every video if you made one for every comic, but I’d DEFINITELY watch the ones for my favs. good work!
How many layers did you use?
BRB REDBULL XD. Your work is awesome
Could you do a tutorial someday? Love your work!
LOL brb redbull XD
Really really amazing, I’d LOVE to see more of these. I can’t believe how freaking long it takes you, it’s no wonder we get updates at the frequency we do! Do you typically do this in one sitting? Or do you spend all week working on it?
For all of those wondering, the song is The Disconnect by Tycho. Wonderful choice of music, if you ask me
Sweet, thanks!
Wow, this is amazing.
… and what band is the music from? lol
I loved this! Also great choice in music mate
I think it’s an astonishing vid. Loved the sidenotes during your work.
love it XD nice shading!
wow! liked it a lot! nice to see this
Great video! I have 2 questions. 1. What gear do you use? 2. How hard is it to learn to draw like this?
